What happens when you tap save

The post is added to your Saved area, reachable only from your own profile menu. Nothing is sent to the author, nothing appears in their activity feed, and no list of savers exists anywhere in the product. The same applies to reels, carousels and guides.

What the owner does see

An account with professional insights enabled sees an aggregate save count next to likes, comments and shares. It is a number without names — useful for judging what resonated, useless for identifying anyone. A personal account without insights sees nothing at all.

Collections are private too

Sorting saves into named collections stays on your side of the app. Nobody sees a collection's name, its contents, or that it exists — with one exception: a shared collection you deliberately invite someone into. If you did not send an invite, no one is looking.
